It’s a small change in the design of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max that will delight repairers as well as users who happen to have the misfortune of breaking the back glass of their phone: the back of these models is now removable! TechCrunch got this information first, and

shared screenshots of a video showing the inside of the iPhone 14 with that faceplate removed. Until now, replacing the back glass of the iPhone required disassembling the entire phone…

This change leads to a significant change in repair prices: replacing the rear glass with Apple will cost €199 for the iPhone 14 and €229 for the iPhone 14 Plus, labor included. On Pro models that do not benefit from this design change, the repair is much more prohibitive at €599 for the iPhone 14 Pro and €669 for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
