The suspect, Sébastien Lapointe-Dion, 38, arrested Sunday evening in his residence in Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, in the suburbs of Montreal, will face several charges.

This was announced Monday by the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), in a press release.

The suspect allegedly harassed and made threats against his ex-spouse, who had left him a few weeks ago to find refuge with a loved one in Montreal.

He must appear at the Montreal courthouse to face several charges, including harassment, threats and unauthorized possession of prohibited weapons, namely a brass knuckles and a nunchaku.

The charges filed against him suggest that he legally possessed the 17 firearms seized from his home.

The SPVM’s North Criminal Investigation Section proceeded with the seizure.
