Good and bad news for this weekend

In short :

  • Return expected for the weekend;
  • Bad news for the east: Fiona;
  • Return of the rain on Sunday.

Good news

After experiencing a bumpy week, a good part of Quebec should benefit from a respite. An anticyclone positioned over the Great Lakes would be the source of the good weather forecast. Clearing would occur as early as Friday for areas in the southwest of the province.

The most beautiful day

Saturday will be the most beautiful day for almost a week for several regions. This will be a great opportunity to admire the changing colors in the Laurentians, in Estrie and in the Capitale-Nationale region. Near normal temperatures are forecast for western, southern and central Quebec. A drop in the mercury is expected as early as Sunday.

Bad news

In the east of the province, a visitor will come to spoil the party. Hurricane Fiona will hit Gaspésie and the Île-de-la-Madeleine. These regions will have to deal with very strong winds, torrential rain and possible flooding, power outages and flash floods. On Sunday, in southern Quebec, the sky will cloud over and rain is expected.
