Police officer shot in downtown Montreal

An SPVM police officer was shot late Wednesday evening in downtown Montreal.

According to our information, the agent was hit by a projectile from a firearm in the thigh.

He was taken to hospital, but there is no fear for his life.

The event would have occurred in an alley located not far from the intersection of rue Tupper and du Fort.

A suspect was reportedly apprehended in this case, the exact circumstances of which remained unknown at the start of the night.

A large security perimeter has been erected in the area to protect the crime scene.
