(Gatineau) A 19-year-old man will appear in Court of Quebec later Thursday, at the Gatineau courthouse, about his alleged involvement in the murder of Trevor Turner which occurred on May 28 in the Aylmer sector, in Gatineau.

Malcolm Smith, who resides in the indigenous territory of Kitigan Zibi, located some 130 kilometers north of Gatineau, was arrested without resistance on Wednesday in Gatineau by officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG). Police expect him to face a charge of accessory after the fact to manslaughter.

On May 28 at around 2:00 a.m., a call to the 911 emergency call center led police to a man with severe upper body injuries who was lying on the ground in front of a commercial establishment on Court Street. Trevor Turner, a resident of Gatineau, succumbed to his injuries caused by stab wounds.

The SPVG reports that its investigation is continuing into this murder and that other arrests should follow.
