A season 3 for ‘Alchemy of Souls’?
Since its first episode in 2022, fantasy drama Alchemy of Souls has become hugely popular with viewers, quickly becoming a fan favorite due to its gripping plot and interesting characters.
Many Alchemy of Souls fans are now waiting for news of a third season, but there has been no announcement about it yet.
The story takes place in Daeho, an invented country where magic has strange effects on people’s lives. This is where young mages live and grow. The main plot is about two people who fall in love, but things aren’t as simple as they seem.
In this country, there is a mysterious magic that allows the soul to change bodies. It’s called “Alchemy of Souls” in the series.
Released last July on Netflix, season 1 made up of 20 episodes took us on a journey through this fictional country, telling us the story of young mages whose souls have changed bodies due to the magical spell Alchemy of souls.
Picking up three years after where we left off, Alchemy of Souls Season 2 focused on the unique relationship of powerful monster hunter Jang Uk (Lee Jae-wook) with Jin Bu-yeon (Ko Yoon -jung).
Alchemy of Souls season 2 appears to be the end of the series. It’s not exactly a huge surprise, considering there will have been a total of 30 episodes, and the Hong sisters have told the story in such a way that it almost has to end once the threat of Jin Mu was put down and Naksu’s fate was finally dealt with.
Plus, a second season is already a rarity in K-Dramas, so it’s likely the opportunity was taken to wrap things up here without the need for additional renewals.
However, some reports say it has been renewed for a third season, while others say the drama is over.
At the moment, we still don’t know if it will continue or if it will end.
Even though the story is complete by the end of Season 2, we can expect a new plot with the same general theme. But it looks like the story is coming to an end, and if the creators want to continue, then they could go on a whole new plot.
On the other hand, season 2 will be available on Netflix in France on January 21, 2023 on Netflix.
