Thanks to the initiative of the Association of Volunteer Auxiliaries and the Residents’ Committee, a very significant place of contemplation now adorns the entrance to the CHSLD Laflèche. A memorial stone and a bench have been laid out in memory of the residents who died of COVID-19 in 2020. For the instigators of the project, this gesture demonstrates all the respect and love shown to the deceased and their loved ones. The monument was unveiled on September 6 during an intimate commemorative ceremony with the families concerned. Conducive to contemplation, the activity brought a great feeling of comfort. In the photo, we see Cécile Marcouiller Chicoine, representative of the auxiliary volunteers; Pierre Gélinas, president of the residents’ committee; Annie Laberge, assistant director of the support program for the autonomy of the elderly (SAPA) – Rive-Nord accommodation; and Kathleen Greffard, Acting Site Manager (Laflèche).
